This is equivalent to 54.3 doses for every 100 inhabitants. It is the country in Europe where vaccination occurs most quickly.
Health Minister Matt Hancock said in a statement that the country’s vaccination program was spectacular. More than half of the entire population over 80 has already taken two doses, he said.
The UK’s goal is to vaccinate everyone over 50 by mid-April, and by the end of July, all adults.
The latest data shows that 3,423 cases were reported on Saturday.
On March 29, stricter control measures were imposed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The expectation is that next week the government will announce a plan to revoke them.
