A child is one of the victims and among the injured are a woman in a very serious condition and the suspect of shooting, whose condition is critical.

The shooting took place in a commercial building on Wednesday (31), around 17:30 (local time, 21:30 in Brasília), on the west coast in the United States.

The Orange Police Department did not report the cause of the shooting or the identity of the victims and the suspect.

Lieutenant Jennifer Amat, a spokeswoman for the Orange Police Department, said shots were being fired when officers arrived, and agents shot the suspect. He was taken to the hospital, and his condition is critical, according to Amat.

The office building houses companies such as an insurance company, a financial advisory company, a legal services company and a telephone repair shop.

This is the third shooting in two weeks in the country. On March 16, eight people were shot dead by an armed man in Atlanta, Georgia.

On March 22, ten people were killed by a man who opened fire at a supermarket in Boulder, Colorado.

California Governor Gavin Newsom called the shooting in Orange, California, “horrible and moving”. “Our hearts are with the families affected by this terrible tragedy.”
