The preliminary investigation found that Sydney, who lived in the state of Maryland, was locked out of the room and tried to get back into the room by climbing a window outside the hotel. The young woman then got stuck in the window and was asphyxiated. It was not informed which exact part of the body the window would have hit the victim to cause asphyxiation.
Police officers and firefighters were called to attend the incident at the resort at 7:30 am (local time), but the young woman declared dead still on the scene. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release that there is no evidence of crime and “no illegal action” is expected.
The autopsy of the young woman’s body is still pending.
