According to the State Department of Health (SES), 145 of the confirmations made on Wednesday (31) were cases of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (Srag). Another 2,286 diagnoses were of the mild form of the disease.

Of the total number of confirmations since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, 36,033 were serious cases and 313,198 were mild cases of Covid-19.
Regarding the 57 deaths recorded on Wednesday (31), the deaths occurred between June 2, 2020 and Monday (29).
The cases of the new coronavirus are distributed to all 184 municipalities in Pernambuco, in addition to the Fernando de Noronha archipelago.
In addition, the bulletin records a total of 295,919 patients recovered from the disease. Of these, 20,922 were critically ill patients, who required hospitalization, and 274,997 were mild cases.
This Wednesday’s bulletin also confirmed 31 deaths of women and 26 of men.
These patients lived in Araripina (1), Cabo de Santo Agostinho (1), Camaragibe (1), Carpina (1), Caruaru (6), Chã Grande (1), Garanhuns (1), Itapetim (1), Jaboatão dos Guararapes (3), Limoeiro (1), Macaparana (1), Olinda (5), Orobó (1), Petrolina (13), Recife (15), São José do Egito (1), Sertânia (1), Sirinhaém ( 1) and Timbaúba (2).
The patients were aged between 26 and 99 years. The age groups are: 20 to 29 (2), 30 to 39 (3), 40 to 49 (6), 50 to 59 (8), 60 to 69 (12), 70 to 79 (13) and 80 or more (13).
Of the total, 48 had pre-existing diseases: cardiovascular disease (28), diabetes (25), hypertension (13), obesity (9), respiratory disease / history of respiratory disease (5), smoking history (4), history stroke (3), history of alcoholism (2), kidney disease (3), Alzheimer’s disease (2), microcephaly (1) and immunosuppression (1).
A patient may have more than one comorbidity. The rest are still under investigation.
Since last year, the state has conducted 1,423,721 tests to detect Covid.
Regarding the testing of health professionals with flu symptoms in Pernambuco, so far, 27,730 cases have been confirmed and 47,070 have been discarded.
Testing among workers in the sector covers professionals from all health units, whether in the public (state and municipal) or private network.
On Wednesday, Governor Paulo Câmara (PSB) stated that the state registered “the interruption in the accelerated growth of demands for ICU beds, registered in the last four weeks”.
According to data from this Wednesday’s bulletin, last week, Pernambuco presented “the first reduction and this week’s data already point to a further decrease in requests for intensive care vacancies”.
During the press conference, Secretary André Longo analyzed Covid-19 indicators in epidemiological week (SE) 12, which corresponds to the period from 21 to 27 March.
According to the Health Manager, in relation to requests for intensive care beds, the Hospital Regulation Center registered a decrease of 4.4% in the comparison of SE 12 with the previous one (14 to 20).
Since the end of February, according to the state, “this was the first time that the indicator showed a reduction”.
Between weeks 8 and 7, there was an increase of 24.7%; in the following week (SE 9), requests for ICU increased by 17.2%; shortly thereafter, new growth of 39.1%; and between weeks 11 and 10 there was a variation of 21% more.
This Wednesday, the global bed occupancy rate for Covid in the public network was 93%. There were patients in 96% of the ICUs and in 88% of the wards.
In the private network, the overall bed occupancy rate for Covid was 77%. There were patients in 91% of the ICUs and in 64% of the wards.
Since January 18, 2021, Pernambuco has applied 1,075,625 doses of the vaccine against Covid-19, of which 840,379 were first doses.
Altogether, they received the first dose in 207,722 health workers; 24,955 indigenous peoples living in villages; 13,508 in quilombola communities; 6,156 elderly people in long-term care facilities; 100,102 elderly people aged 64 to 69 years; 307,308 elderly people from 70 to 79 years old; 94,598 elderly people aged 80 to 84 years; 85,136 elderly people from 85 years old; in addition to 894 people with institutionalized disabilities.
Regarding the second dose, 160,166 health workers have already benefited; 24,155 indigenous peoples living in villages; 22 in quilombola communities; 4,430 institutionalized elderly; 471 elderly people from 64 to 69 years old; 18,153 elderly people from 70 to 79 years old; 22,486 elderly people aged 80 to 84 years; 4,691 elderly people from 85 years of age, in addition to 672 people with institutionalized disabilities; totaling 235,246 people who have already completed the scheme.
