This Wednesday (31) Dinosaur Jr. released its new single “Garden”, a cozy ballad that won a home video directed by bassist Lou Barrow (who also signed the song) and his wife Adelle. In the images, it is possible to see the couple walking hand in hand in the snow and the three members of the band playing in the cold, around a homemade fire.
“Garden” is the first single from the album “Sweep It Into Space”, which will be released on April 23rd. Dinosaur Jr.’s 12th album is the first in five years, following the 2016 “Give A Glimpse Of What Yer Not”.

According to Consequence of Sound, in a statement, Barrow commented on what inspired him to write the song, mentioning the socio-political situation in the United States. “I was looking for a resolution. Where do we go when faced with such a dramatic mess? Back to basics, back home, back to the garden. Fortunately, I was able to complete the vocals and the instrumental for the song just before the quarantine, ” reported.
In the same statement, the bassist said that the video clip for “Garden” was recorded with the iPhones of his wife and businessman John Moloney, who was the author of the drawings that can be seen overlaid on the official video. John himself edited the images in iMovie. Check the result at the end of this publication.
