How to Duet Instagram Reels

Instagram (Android | iOS) now has a new feature called Remix. With it, content creators can record a video on Reels side by side with an existing one, something very similar to the “Duet”, which is available on TikTok.

In this way, it is possible to record reactions, comparisons, respond to videos or make new versions, natively, without the need for video editing software for this. If you want to use the Remix function to perform a duet on Reels, check out the step by step below!

How to Duet Instagram Reels

Step 1: Locate the Reels video you want to “duplicate” and click on the “Three dots” icon in the menu to the right of it. Stay tuned, as this video cannot be any of IGTV or Stories.

Step 2: in the menu that opens, then select the item “Remix this video from Reels”.

Important: Older videos on the platform may not have this option available.

Step 3: in the pop-up that appears next, click “OK” to proceed. If you do not want to allow other users to remix your videos, disable this option in the “Settings” tab.

Step 4: then insert effects or set the timer and record your Reel.

Step 5: with the video recorded, click on “Edit” to proceed.

Step 6: make the necessary adjustments by inserting stickers, text or other elements and click on “Share on” to create a caption and publish your video in the feed.
