Miley Cyrus continues to show his talent in Rock.
Last Saturday (3) the singer took part in the NCAA College Basketball Final Four tournament, which took place in Indianapolis, and again presented in her show some covers of Rock and Roll classics.
With frontline workers who have already been vaccinated against COVID-19 as public, Miley started her electrifying performance with two successful tracks from Queen, “We Will Rock You” e “Don’t Stop Me Now”.
Then, in addition to presenting her songs “We Can’t Stop” and “Wrecking Ball”, the singer continued with new versions for “Heart Of Glass” from Blondie e “Edge Of Seventeen” de Stevie Nicks no mash-up with his song “Midnight Sky”, present on the album Plastic Heart (2020).
Criticism and praise for Miley Cyrus
Despite being acclaimed by many fans on social media and praised for introducing older artists to the new generation, some people were uncomfortable with the comparisons between Cyrus and the singer and guitarist Joan Jett, who even collaborated on the song “Bad Karma” on Miley’s most recent album (via Loudwire).
One of Cyrus’s admirers used his Twitter account to congratulate the artist for her attitudes, especially for introducing Rock and Roll and the works of artists like Joan to new generations.
Meanwhile, other users were outraged by the comparisons between the artists and asked people to apologize to Joan for the comments. On the subject, an internet user wrote:
I’m not a Miley Cyrus hater or anything, but … We’re talking about Joan Jett here. It exists in a totally different rock universe. The one with the highest pantheon.
It is worth remembering that in February of this year, Jett joined Miley in a presentation of the singer in the pre-show of Super Bowl. In addition to singing “Bad Karma”, the two featured hits from Joan such as “Bad Reputation” and “I Hate Myself For Loving You”, see here.
