Amid the worsening of Covid-19 in Brazil, the president Jair Bolsonaro shared on Monday 5 a video of the mayor of Chapecó-SC, João Rodrigues (PSD), defending the so-called ‘early treatment against the coronavirus’, which uses drugs without proven efficacy against the disease.
In the video, Rodrigues asks that mayors and governors also adopt the treatment. “Do not be afraid, treat patients with everything possible. For science too, of course, but allow doctors who want to do early treatment to do it. That’s what we did in Chapecó. A specific laboratory just for early treatment ”, says the politician.
Bolsonaro has been pressured by allies and Congress to leave the negationist speech.
