At the site, people were crowded, with no safety distance, getting on crowded buses.
“This is the situation that I face every day – a kilometer line. In addition, people who arrive later pass ahead. If you want, go sit down, you have to wait for another bus,” said domestic Eliana Barcelos.
“We need to work, but we are forced to face a long line like this and crowded buses. I am from the health area and live this reality every day,” said the nursing technician Juciara Barbosa.
By means of a note, the BRT intervention team informed that, together with the Municipal Transportation Secretariat, it will continue the operational planning of working days with the maintenance of the eventual service made by regular buses on the route between Santa Cruz and Alvorada.
An accident with a cyclist that invaded the exclusive BRT Transoeste lane, on the dawn of this Monday (5), took an articulated bus out of circulation.
BRT Rio reported that a joint is stopped at the Cosmos station, in the Transoeste corridor, on the axis of Avenida Cesário de Melo, since 4 am this Monday because of the accident with the cyclist.
The man invaded the exclusive lane and was going in the opposite direction, in the direction of Campo Grande. Passing the joint that had just left the garage to make line 10 (Santa Cruz x Alvorada), the cyclist fell and injured his shoulder and hand.
He was referred to Rocha Faria Hospital, in Campo Grande, in the West Zone. The Fire Department and the Military Police have already left the site, but the 35th DP (Campo Grande) will conduct an investigation on the bus and only after its completion will the pleadings be able to return to the operation.
