Ryzen 5000 processors hit the market a few months ago! However, AMD has not yet released any refresh to the very popular Ryzen 3200G and Ryzen 3400G. Processors that delighted consumers looking for ‘low-cost’ machines to work with, but are also quite capable of running some less demanding games like League of Legends, GTA V, or CS: GO.
All that said, in these weird times when a graphics card costs almost the same as a car, it looks like AMD is even going to launch a new range of APUs! If they come in decent quantities, they will be a real breath of fresh air for the market.
What is an APU?
In case you don’t know, an APU is an AMD solution where we can find a CPU and a GPU on the same chip! As AMD has great know-how in both fields, it is capable of producing APUs with very interesting performance. In fact, new generation consoles are based on AMD APUs.
Solution to the crisis? AMD will launch Ryzen 5000 APUs!
Therefore, according to the latest information, we are about to welcome the Ryzen 7 5700G, Ryzen 5 5600G and Ryzen 3 5300G. Yes, we are going to have an APU within the Ryzen 7 range, and apparently, it will bring a very interesting level of performance to the table.
After all, the Ryzen 7 5700G will bring 8 cores and 16 threads, 16MB of L3 cache, and a base frequency of 3.8GHz (boost of 4.6GHz). In the middle range, we have the Ryzen 5 5600G with 6 cores and 12 threads, 16MB of L3 cache and base frequency of 3.9 GHz (boost of 4.4 GHz). Finally, we have the Ryzen 3 5300G with 4 cores and 8 threads, 8MB of L3 cache, and a base frequency of 4.0 GHz (boost of 4.2 GHz). All processors have a TDP of 65W.
So, not only do we have a high-end alternative on the Ryzen 7 5700G, but we also have two very interesting processors in the form of the Ryzen 5 5600G and Ryzen 3 5300G for the lower ranges, which alone bring an increase of 200MHz over the Ryzen 4000 from last year, which of course, never reached the traditional consumer market. As well as the Zen 3 architecture that leaned Intel against the wall.
On top of all this, it appears that the iGPU has been significantly improved, with more computing units and an increase in frequency.
In short, I sincerely hope that these processors will hit the market, so anyone who is desperate for a graphics card does not have to sell a kidney on the black market.
