Huawei Band 6 is official: more screen, the usual limitations

This Friday we shared with our readers what would be the alleged design of the Huawei Band 6 and its specifications. Hours later, the smart bracelet was officially presented in Malaysia, and much of the data from the information leak is confirmed.

The Huawei Band 6 invariably follows the design of the Honor Band 6, presented a few months ago and now available globally. We have an almost complete 1.47 ”inch AMOLED screen with 194 by 368 pixels, which gives it 282 pixels per inch.

Huawei says the screen is 148% bigger, which is not surprising. Although the Huawei Band 4 Pro even had GPS, it had a really small screen. Also note the side button, as we have in the Huawei Watch Fit.

Huawei Band 6 has 96 sports modes

The small weight of 18 grams is confirmed without a bracelet. With regard to features, it comes with the same 96 sport modes as the Huawei Watch Fit and training assistant. You already have the usual monitoring of heart rate, sleep, stress and oxygen in the blood (SpO2).

Huawei continues to cut functions on other Android or iOS

It is important to mention that it has features such as measuring the menstrual cycle, which does not work on iOS. You can see if someone is calling you or see notifications, and you can control your music (except on iOS). You can also control your camera, but only if you have a Huawei smartphone.

As for the battery, the Chinese manufacturer promises up to two weeks of autonomy. Also note the water resistance of 5ATM, Bluetooth 5.0 or magnetic charging. It’s an interesting device, although it loses functionality if you don’t have a Huawei or Android smartphone. Something that does not happen, for example, in the Xiaomi Mi Band.

The Huawei Band 6 was launched in three colors: black, green and orange. It will go on sale in Malaysia for the equivalent of 45 €, which is the price announced for competitor Mi Band 6. In that country it will be put on sale starting this Sunday, so it is to wait for a global launch soon.
