G-SQUAD PRO GSW-H1000: Casio debuts the first G-SHOCK model with Wear OS

Until then reserved for the Pro Trek line of its watches, Casio recently announced the arrival of Wear OS for the iconic G-SHOCK family through the model G-SQUAD PRO GSW-H1000. With this, lovers of the watch line geared towards adventures can now enjoy a smartwatch without giving up the model’s striking design.

Equipped with a 320×300 pixel 1.32 inch TFT LCD display with two layers, one monochrome, always-on, and one color, for better navigation between system screens, the GSW-H1000 promises up to 1 month of autonomy in mode clock – using the monochrome screen and basic sensors, and 1 ½ days for use with the color display. The amperage of the battery and the chipset of the watch were not informed.

Bringing Wear OS with it, carrying atmospheric pressure sensors, accelerometer, compass, optical heart rate sensor, among others, Casio says that the watch is able to accurately record user data, making it possible to track more than 15 activities different, from surfing to fishing, and more than 24 indoor training options; in addition to the Wear OS options, from Google Assistant to Google Fit.

And despite the system signed by Google, the manufacturer says that it is possible to synchronize the data collected in the activities with both Android devices and iOS devices. This, through the G-Shock Move – the company’s application.

As mentioned, despite the intelligent features, the watch does not leave the known robustness of the G-SHOCK line aside and, with a resin case, mineral glass display, titanium back and rubber strap, the GSW-H1000 is resistant to falls and can be immersed up to 200 meters deep. A possible good option for those looking for a resistant smart watch to take on their adventures.

But now comes the bucket of cold water. With availability not yet confirmed, the British website of the company indicates a fixed price of £ 599, the equivalent of 4,728 today reais in direct conversion. Price that for most can be a little bit salty.
