Casio Announces First G-SHOCK with Google’s Wear OS System

Casio has just announced the first smartwatch with Wear OS by Google operating system from one of its most well-known lines: G-SHOCK.

Named G-SQUAD Pro, the model maintains the tradition of the line with a focus on the practice of multisport activities and comes packed with functions entitled to an exclusive application.

According to the Japanese manufacturer, the equipment is equipped with specific configurations for up to 15 sports such as running, cycling, fishing, snowboarding and others and for up to 24 exercise styles. indoor.

Among the various functions, we highlight the optical sensor for cardiac monitoring, altitude monitor, tide table, GPS location and maps to follow the path taken during the activity.

Some of these complications should vary depending on the availability of coverage in each country.

Equipped with the Google operating system, G-SQUAD pro is also expected to have access to the company’s personal assistant and apps like Google Play and Google Fit, voice calls, social media notifications and email, in addition to the possibility to download a series of other APPs through the online store.

Navigation promises to be very simple. Through a touch screen, the user can walk through the functions and configure the display to present the information he deems most important.

The watch itself maintains the G-SHOCK structure with shock protection, water resistance up to 20 ATM (200 meters), resin coating and part of the titanium back cover.

The Clock is equipped with a double-layer display that combines a monochromatic LCD screen for the exclusive projection of hours and a color LCD screen for other functions, such as map reproduction.

Own Application

Casio has developed an exclusive APP for its partnership with Google.

The “Casio Move” is available for Android and IOS and completes the sporting functions of the watch with analysis of performance, activity history and progress maps of the athlete.

With it, it is also possible to take photos and produce videos by overlaying the images with the data captured by the watch such as speed, altitude, heart rate and more. Casio sells this idea as a big advance for producers of sports content.

The watch will sell for U $ 699 (approximately R $ 4,000 in direct conversion) in the red, blue or black color options. The device is compatible with the latest versions of the Android system and IOS.
