Baby 2018 a Microsoft expanded the availability of your voice assistant, Cortana, for more devices, in order to compete with other giants in the industry, such as Google Assistant, Alexa and even Siri. For this, in addition to Windows 10, the wizard appeared on some Harman Kardon devices, and in the form of an application for Android e iOS.
However, public acceptance does not seem to have been what Microsoft planned, and even in Windows 10, Cortana insists on not being able to find its audience. For this reason, the company gradually “turns off” the assistant, and another step has been taken in this direction, which now affects applications for Android and iOS.
Although not a novelty, since the company had already announced it in July 2020, Cortana is no longer available on the operating systems of Google and Apple. The company shut down its servers yesterday, and the application simply stopped working at 11:59 pm yesterday, March 31, 2021.

Microsoft explains that it now wants to move to “A transformation of the experience delivered by the AI gifted assistant” in your Microsoft 365 applications – and redirect your resources to “Areas of innovation and development”. Specifically, Microsoft has already started to achieve a more advanced assistant integration in Microsoft 365. This is materialized, for example, by the possibility in Teams to easily manage your calendar, emails and meetings by voice.
If you had lists and reminders, you will lose access to them on your smartphone. However, they will remain accessible through the PC version of the wizard, if you have your Microsoft account connected to your machine.
