The Porsche 911 GT3 2022 is the street version of the sports coupe, changing just a few things so that it can be used off the racetrack. It has a 4.0 boxer six-cylinder engine, delivering 510 hp and 47.9 kgfm of torque, which is 10 hp and 1 kgfm more than the GT3 R. It uses the same 7-speed PDK transmission (instead of the gearbox). 8 gears of the normal 911), which is the one available in Brazil. It also has a 6-speed manual option for other markets.
This set makes it behave exactly like a racing car. Accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 318 km / h. The proof of how fast the new GT3 is is in the 6: 59.9 lap time at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, 17.5 seconds faster than the previous generation and which has made it the record holder among the brand’s cars.
Of course, its performance goes far beyond having a powerful engine. It received a Double Wishbone suspension instead of the independent McPherson in the front, improving response and cornering stability, while the rear has a lower arm with uniball connections. Even the shock absorbers are new, to give even more stability to the whole vehicle. It is possible to adjust the camber and stiffness of the stabilizer bars, and the locking rear differential works in three modes, changing how much it blocks the transfer according to the chosen mode.
It also has a steering system for the rear wheels. At speeds up to 50 km / h, when turning the steering wheel, the rear wheels move in the opposite direction, reducing the space required for maneuvering. Above 80 km / h, the rear wheels start to steer in the same direction as the front wheels, reducing the understeer, allowing the 911 GT3 to turn faster.
Although Porsche has greatly reduced the weight of the GT3, making it 1,435 kg, the sports car still comes well equipped, with items such as sport seats with electric adjustment; multimedia center; instrument panel with two 7 ”screens showing functions such as stopwatch, tire temperature and more; air conditioning; between others. It has some options, such as carbon fiber shell seats and the Clubsport package, which adds competition fire extinguisher, protection cage and 6-point seat belt.
