The Galaxy A82 is one of Samsung’s most anticipated phones for 2021 among those that have not yet been announced. The direct successor of the Galaxy A80 has already appeared in several rumors with promises of different design, but it seems that in the end it will be a kind of powerful intermediary with a traditional aspect, even.

At least that is what points to the newest leak of the Galaxy Quantum2, which should be the name of the device for the South Korean market. The device is similar in size to the Galaxy S21, and the cameras are in the same position, with the difference that the module has the same color as the rear and does not join the side frame. The flash is also in a different position from this year’s top model.

According to the person responsible for the leak, a profile of the social network belonging to the search engine Naver, from South Korea, registered as Tutusha, the Galaxy Quantum2, whose model reference is SM-A826 and is believed to be launched in Western markets like Galaxy A82, possibly has the same screen as the Galaxy S20 +, including the curved sides and the centralized hole for the front camera. But the resolution is lower, fixed in Full HD with 1080 x 2400 pixels. The refresh rate is 120 Hz and the display reaches 800 nits of maximum brightness.

The display is 6.7 inches and the device still has the Snapdragon 855+ chipset, which was used by top of the line 2019 models such as the ROG Phone 2, BlackShark 2 Pro and OnePlus 7T Pro, among others, with 8 GB of memory RAM and 128 GB of storage. The battery has 4,500 mAh and the camera set has the main 64 MP with optical stabilization, possibly a Sony sensor.

The device, which is IP67 certified against water and dust, weighs 203 grams, has space for a microSD card, supports Dolby Atmos and comes with a charger and cable in the box, without a headset. The unlocking by biometrics is done by a fingerprint reader under the screen, and the device comes with payment by MST approach.

According to the leak, the Galaxy Quantum2 goes on pre-sale in South Korea exclusively by the operator SKT on April 13 and includes Galaxy Buds Live and transparent gift cover for those who buy in the period. The launch should take place on April 23rd.

There is no forecast for a global device announcement like the Galaxy A82, and some specifications may differ depending on the market. A variant with 6 GB of RAM has already appeared in a benchmark.
