Google Assistant Driving Mode may reach new countries

Google Assistant Driving Mode will be made available to other countries. Previously, the official support page said that the feature was only available in English in the United States. However, she now says that “they are not available in all languages or countries”.

Although Google does not make official which countries will receive the functionality, the Android Police website confirms that the United Kingdom is already one of them. This opens the way for the solution to be taken to other countries and languages, in the evaluation of the site.

Google Assistant Driving Mode was announced by Google during the I / O conference in 2019. However, the Driving Mode was only launched in the United States in October 2020.

The feature allows users to perform tasks while browsing Google Maps. For example, the driver can send text messages, make calls and control music media using his voice, without leaving the Google Maps navigation screen.

According to the website, the feature is gradually appearing to users around the world, so it can appear on Android devices at any time. To check if Driving Mode is already available, just enter Google Maps and go to Settings.

Then, Navigation Settings and finally in the Google Assistant Settings. If it is available, a new panel will appear with the heading Available Steering Mode.
