Resident Evil Village gets new gameplay video that confirms Photo Mode

Resident Evil Village, the eighth title in the main franchise, is one of the most anticipated games this year and fans can’t wait to start facing the terrors led by the deadly Lady Dimitrescu.

Last Friday, the game had a new video with unpublished scenes released, where we can check out more of the gameplay, as well as having the confirmation about Photo Mode, one of the essential items in games of the last generation.

In the video, we can see Ethan Winters, protagonist of the previous game, venturing through the dungeon of Dimitrescu’s big mansion, when he comes across some zombies (or are they vampires?) With scythes, who are not friendly at all.

The game is running on a PS4 Pro, which leaves us in doubt for its performance on previous generation base consoles (PS4 and Xbox One), as no videos on these platforms have been released.

The gameplay closely follows that of Resident Evil VII, with the claustrophobia of the camera in first person, but what draws attention is the ease of switching between weapons, something that was rescued from the mechanics of Resident Evil 2 Remake.

As you can see at the moment when Ethan listens to Lady Dimitrescu talking on the phone, the interface shows the chance to enter Photo Mode by pressing the Options button (PS4), giving us the chance to better observe the details of the scenario and characters.

Resident Evil Village will be released on May 7, 2021.

Are you looking forward to the new game?
