Microsoft postponed the full opening of its offices until September, at least

Microsoft joined technology companies that decided to postpone the removal of quarantine measures from their offices in late 2021, although the situation with Covid-19 becomes easier. The corporation reportedly postponed the full opening of its offices with the scheduled date for July, at least on September 7.

This step, according to the press secretary, was developed as a result of active consultations with experts in the field of health and data analysis. In an email, employees Executive Vice President Kurt Delbene said the delay will provide additional flexibility to employees who are already building plans for the summer. He added that local office managers had the right to initiate additional delays in removing quarantine measures if the coronavirus situation in their area was a cause for concern.

Currently, the software giant is in the phase of gradually opening offices: a limited number of employees can return to work full-time. In March, about 20% of Microsoft employees in 21 countries have already returned to offices, including headquarters in Redmond and Seattle.

The new delay is excessive evidence of uncertainty around Covid-19. Vaccination is rapidly gaining momentum and should make full-time jobs in the office more secure. However, it is unclear whether there will be enough people vaccinated in July, and the growth of rapidly inspired variants of the virus complicates the situation. As soon as possible, Microsoft has already stated that it is going and after opening offices, allow most employees, if you want to work from home for half the work time.
