Brazil has already contracted enough doses to vaccinate 58% of the population in 2022

Despite the funeral crowd for the coronavirus, Brazil has already ensured sufficient doses of vaccines against Covid-19 for the entire population of almost 213 million.


626 million doses of eight different pharmaceuticals have already been contracted. It is equivalent to 158% of what is necessary.

According to a survey by the Temporary Commission of Covid-19 of the Senate, keeping the delivery deadlines of the laboratories producing the immunizers, the entire population may be immunized by the end of the year. The information is from Column Cláudio Humberto, from Diary of Power.

The largest amount of immunizers will come from Fiocruz: 222.4 million doses of the AstraZeneca / Oxford vaccine, all of which will be delivered this year.

Butantan will supply 130 million doses of Coronavac. It is also the one that has delivered the most so far: 32 million doses between January and March.


The Ministry of Health has closed a deal for 63 million doses of the Modern vaccine (USA) and 100 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine (USA).

The Covax Facility, an initiative of the revered WHO, will be only the fifth largest supplier of vaccines to Brazil: 41.4 million doses.
