THE BALL – Pirlo regrets “predictable” football by Juventus (Italy)
Andrea Pirlo was self-critical after the derby draw with Torino (2-2), a result that further complicates Juventus’ accounts in the title race.

«We started the game well, we scored first, which is always difficult when facing defensive teams. And as is already a habit, we made our own life difficult ”, he began by telling the DAZN, in reference to the goals that allowed Torino to turn around.

“We wanted a different second half, but we made a mistake right away and we had to react. A mistake we have made in the past, unfortunately too many times. We also have lapses and concentration ”, pointed out the Juve coach, reinforcing:

– We cannot lose concentration for a second because, the moment we lose the ball, we are punished.

«We have to work on the principles of football, such as positioning and movements, finding spaces between lines, especially in front of teams that defend well. Right now, we are making a lot of horizontal passes and that makes us predictable », he lamented.

Despite the mistakes, Pirlo saw the team squander the few occasions they had to win the game: «We had a ball in the iron and an opportunity from Cristiano Ronaldo. It is natural that, against teams that are installed in defense, it will be difficult to move the ball quickly. »

Cristiano Ronaldo ended up avoiding the worst and scored the equalizer, a result still insufficient for the aspirations of Juventus, who are looking for the tenth Scudetto consecutive. With nine games to go before Serie A ends, he is in fifth place with 56 points, away from Inter Milan leader, who has 68.
