Lyon drew (1-1) at Lens and lost a place on the Ligue 1 podium, yielding third place to Monaco who thrashed Metz.

With Anthony Lopes on target, Lyon found themselves losing in the 65th minute after Jonathan Clauss put Lens in front of the marker.

Advantage canceled with nine minutes left with Paqueta restoring equality.

The match was also marked by the expulsion of Algerian striker Slimani, who saw a direct red card in the final moments of the match.

With this result, Lyon fell to fourth place in Ligue 1, with 61 points, one less than Monaco (3rd). Lille (66 points) and PSG (63) occupy the first and second places, respectively.
