The Nova Vila Belmiro project will have an important milestone next April 20. Two meetings scheduled between Santos and WTorre will be decisive for the continuation of the project. In the first one, in the morning, the architect responsible for the project, Luis Volpato, will detail the architecture of the Nova Vila for the members of the Management Committee and the Board committee responsible for monitoring the project.

In the second, and most important, WTorre will present to CG the expected financial results for the project and for the club, in addition to the funding model. If the economic model is approved by the CG, WTorre expects to have, within six months, all complementary projects approved to start fundraising. In parallel, the project will be presented to the Deliberative Council for approval or not. President Andres Rueda also revealed his desire to take the project to a meeting of partners.
As DIÁRIO anticipated, Retrofit da Vila is part of a Real Estate Investment Fund project that WTorre is structuring alongside BTG Pactual. In addition to the Vila, the Fund would have the Allianz Parque, the new São Januário, the Arena da Ponte Preta and two other stadiums.
According to the MOU (Memorandum of Intent) signed with WTorre, valid for one year, the partnership would have between 30 and 35 years and the remuneration of Santos during the period would be 2.5% to 15% of the turnover (it is estimated that the percentage is 6%). After the term of the contract, all Nova Vila’s revenues would be from the club.
The project would cost around R $ 220 million and the deadline for construction is 24 months after all approvals. The Arena will be fully covered, with a capacity for 25 thousand people, will have parking for 943 simultaneous spaces below the lawn, which will be raised above 10 meters above ground level – a unique feature in world football. The complex will have more than 11 thousand m² of commercial areas, including a grand area at the top of the stadium, called “Vila”, 712 chairs with spectacular views, a bike path, replica of the Santos sidewalk, leisure and entertainment areas.
