Paralyzed since the last 26th, football games will be able to happen again in Rio de Janeiro from April 9th, Friday of next week. The decision was disclosed in a decree published in the Official Gazette of the municipality.

“Competitions and training in high performance sports are also allowed, in any case the presence of a public is prohibited“, says an excerpt from the decree.
The clubs had been working in Elcyr Resende, in Saquarema, and in Raulino de Oliveira, in Volta Redonda, since the last decree was published suspending activities in the municipality as of March 26. Thus, Maracanã, Nilton Santos, São Januário, Luso-Brasileiro, Conselheiro Galvão and Moça Bonita will be able to receive games again.

The decision is part of a package of measures by the city of Rio de Janeiro based on the Covid-19 pandemic figures. Other changes, for example, were the release of bars and restaurants.
