Portimonense thrashed Nacional, in a game that marked Manuel Machado’s return to the islanders’ bench.
Portimonense won this Thursday by 5-1 on the visit to Nacional, in the opening of the 25th round of Liga NOS, which marked the return of coach Manuel Machado to the islanders’ bench.
In Funchal, Portimonense took the lead in the 33rd minute, with a goal by Beto, and made the second through Luquinha (45). In the second half, Beto (54) scored twice, Fali Candé (62) increased the advantage and Fabrício (90 + 2) scored the fifth, with Bryan Róchez (68) scoring the only goal of the team now coached by Manuel Machado, who debuted with a heavy defeat.
With this victory, Portimonense, who had come from two consecutive defeats, provisionally climbed to 10th place in the championship, with 26 points, while Nacional, who added the seventh consecutive loss, is in 18th and last, with 21.
