Clubs will play every two days to be able to finish the championship by May 23

According to the globoesporte.com, the clubs that dispute the Paulista championship they will run a games marathon to finish the tournament on the originally scheduled date: May 23rd.

This means that they will accept to enter the field every two days, practically without having time to train or recover the players physically.

Thus, the teams, whether large, medium or small, must make a total rotation of players, scaling different formations each game.

According to the portal Twitter, the São Paulo Football Federation wants to end the State Championship by May 23, because CBF has already warned that it will not postpone the start of the Brazilian championship.

The 2021 edition of Serie A is scheduled to start on May 30, a week after Paulista’s final theorist.

It is worth remembering, however, that the big ones in São Paulo will have commitments for Conmebol Libertadores e Brazil’s Cup in the period, making the calendar even crazier.

Palmeiras will still have to play the Super Cup of Brazil and Recopa Sul-Americana, both in Brasília.

Football is paralyzed in São Paulo until at least April 11, which is how long the emergency phase of fighting COVID-19 in the state will last.

This Friday, there will be a meeting between FPF, clubs and the Public Ministry to assess when it will be possible to resume football. With the number of beds occupied still huge, however, the forecast is pessimistic.

Even so, the Federation will propose even more strict protection protocols to be able to re-broadcast the championship.
