Base highlight, Igor Formiga returns to training at Corinthians after knee surgery

Right-back Igor Formiga, one of the players who arouse the most curiosity in the crowd waiting for his chance on the professional team, returned to training on the field this Thursday, at CT Joaquim Grava, taking an important step in the recovery of an arthroscopy done on your right knee.

Currently belonging to the under-23 category of Timão, Igor was part of the professional’s training schedule because his teammates have been following a schedule of training at home to reduce the circulation of people in the TC.

The procedure of making the injured players take advantage of the CT structure for recovery while the category is stopped, by the way, is nothing new at the club, trying to adapt to the conditions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

One of the most emblematic cases is that of attacking midfielder Rodrigo Varanda, who was in the under-17 when he suffered an arm injury and had to undergo surgery. As the category ended up eliminated from the Brazilian, he was transferred to the professional to perform the recovery.

After joining some training sessions, coach Vagner Mancini was pleased, he was promoted for good, made his debut in the Paulista Championship and started all matches in the current season so far.

It is worth remembering that, in Igor’s position, Corinthians has only Fagner at the moment. When the holder could not play or needed to be replaced, Vagner Mancini improvised Bruno Méndez and João Victor in the sector.
