Dário Essugo will debut this Thursday by the Lions under-23 team, and then in a derby with Benfica, at the Aurélio Pereira Stadium, in Alcochete, after having made his debut with the main team of the lions at the age of 16 .
The young midfielder continues to leap from juniors to seniors and is now under-23, without having played in juniors or team B. However, this unusual way of skipping stages has to do with the fact that the young man has only turned 16 in the beginning of March, not being allowed below that age, to sign a professional contract, legally required to play in the under-23s or in team B.
This afternoon’s game, which started at 5 pm, concerns the 14th round of the Revelation Cup qualifying round. Benfica leads the classification, with 36 points, while Sporting is third, with 30.
