World champion in chess, Magnus Carlsen (30), had in 2019 found love with Elisabeth Lorentzen Djønne (25). The two moved together in an apartment on Tjuvholmen in Oslo, for a staggering 21 million kroner, a year ago.

Now, however, happiness is over for the couple. It reports VG, which has had the breach confirmed by Carlsen.

– We each go to ours as friends, he says to the newspaper.

– Empty what I managed in a quarter of an hour

Lorentzen Djønne has, among other things, been with Carlsen at several chess tournaments, including during the world championships in Moscow in 2019.

In the last year, there have been digital chess tournaments for the 30-year-old.

The last time Carlsen was single was in 2018, when it had ended with Synne Christin Larsen (26).

Magnus Carlsen has protected his privacy quite well when it comes to romantic relationships, but in an interview with The Guardian in 2013, he revealed a bit about what kind of girls he does not like:

– I imagine that a boyfriend must at least have some knowledge of chess.

– But I do not like it when I go out and meet girls who start talking to me about how they played chess against their grandfathers when they were children – I can not stand it. It’s boring. I would rather talk about anything else, he said at the time.
