Magnus Carlsen (30) and Elisabet Lorentzen Djønne (25) confirm to VG that the relationship between them is over.
After two years together, the chess star and his cohabitant have moved apart, confirms both the world champion and Elisabet Lorentzen Djønne.
– We each go to ours as friends, Carlsen says to VG.
The two have kept house together in an exclusive apartment on Tjuvholmen in Oslo. Carlsen bought this for NOK 21 million in the spring of 2020.
Elisabet Lorentzen Djønne was in her time presented by Se og Hør as «Brown and gentle model». She comes from Granvin in Hardanger and has followed Magnus Carlsen to many chess tournaments. Among other things, she was present when he became world champion in both fast and lightning chess in Moscow in Christmas 2019.
Torstein Bae will be the department head of NRC
After the corona hit, Magnus Carlsen has mostly played digital chess tournaments. Many of them are arranged by the Play Magnus group, of which Carlsen is a part owner.
It is currently unclear which physical chess tournaments Magnus Carlsen will play in 2021. But Norway Chess in Rogaland was recently moved to the autumn, and in November he will probably defend the World Cup title in long chess in Dubai.
