Dentinho has a contract until November with Shakthar and will discuss renewal; Corinthians did not make a proposal

Despite the countless debts that Corinthians faces, the name of striker Dentinho has been constantly linked to a possible return to the club. The player, however, has a contract with Ukraine’s Shakthar Donetsk until November 2021.

In an interview with Sports Gazette, the player’s agent, Gilberto Silva, emphasized the affection that the 32-year-old athlete has for Timão, but made it clear that he is a fundamental piece for the Ukrainian team, which makes a possible negotiation difficult.

“Everything that involves Dentinho and Corinthians I take great care to treat and speak for all the history that exists. Dentinho has a contract with Shakthar Donetsk until November 8, and the club counts on him for the rest of the season”, he commented .

According to the former midfielder, there is still no conversation with Alvinegro about the transfer of Dentinho. Still, he is expected to meet with Shakthar’s board soon to discuss the matter.

“As for Corinthians, we have no negotiations with the club. We had no proposal on their part. I must have a meeting with Shakthar to understand this issue because of their size, not least because Dentinho has been an important player this season”, said.

Altogether, Dentinho has already played 183 games with Shakthar Donetsk and scored 26 goals. In the current season, there are three goals in 14 commitments.

For Corinthians, the striker has 187 games and 55 balls in the net, thus being the club’s top scorer in the 21st century. In addition, he won the Serie B of the 2008 Brazilian Championship, and the Paulistão and the 2009 Copa do Brasil.

Despite the difficulty of the negotiation, Gilberto Silva did not rule out a return. In the ex-player’s view, this is something that can happen at some point.
