Most of the players that led Flamengo to the seventh Brazilian championship only debuted in the 2021 season this Wednesday (31). And they seem even more “hungry” for new achievements. So much so that the team didn’t even have to work so hard to beat Bangu 3-0, in Volta Redonda, and consolidate even more in the leadership of the Campeonato Carioca.
The game was practically an attack on defense. And despite pressing from the first minutes, Rubro-Negro only opened the scoring at 47 in the first half. Diego crossed from the right and Bruno Henrique, with his head, sent it to the nets.
The goal could have come earlier, as at 32 Gabigol completed Bruno Henrique’s pass and scored, but the referee was offside. From the replay, you can see that the attacker had a legal position, but as Cariocão does not have a VAR in the initial phase, the goal was canceled.
The second was from Arrascaeta, at 21 of the second stage. The Uruguayan received from Diego, dribbled the marker and kicked, to make a beautiful goal. In the final minutes, Gabigol received from Vitinho and beat with category to close the scoreboard.
The result leaves Flamengo with 16 points in the Guanabara Cup, in the isolated lead. The team, however, can be reached in the number of points by Volta Redonda, who only plays this Thursday. The defeated ones on this Wednesday are still going badly. With 5 points, they are in the penultimate position.

In the next round, while Bangu is already playing on Saturday night, against Vasco, with Record TV for Rio de Janeiro and 26 more squares, Rubro-Negro will only return to action on Monday, against Madureira, the only team undefeated so far in the championship.
