Federal District government appeals and overturns injunction that prevented games in Brasilia

After the measure determined the sequence of the lockdown in Brasilia, the Federal Regional Court of the 1st Region accepted the appeal requested by the Government of the Federal District and suspended the injunction.

As a result, activities considered non-essential will be able to operate according to the rules established in the March 19 decree, with time restrictions for each segment.

Among the activities now allowed is the dispute of football championships. In addition to the local state, the city will receive matches from teams from other states in the month of April.

This week, Conmebol confirmed the games of Santos x San Lorenzo, through the Conmebol Libertadores, e Palm Trees x Defense and Justice, by Recopa Sul-Americana, to the Mané Garrincha stadium, in Brasília.

The match between Santos and San Lorenzo is scheduled for April 13, in a match valid for the third phase of the tournament. The next day, Palmeiras decides the Recopa Sul-Americana against Defensa y Justicia on the same stage.

In addition to international competitions, the state championship schedule should also be affected. The city of Brasilia was also seen by the CBF as an option to hold the Super Cup of Brazil, among Flamengo and Palmeiras, on April 11th.
