O General Competition Regulations of the Northern Rio Grande do Sul Football Federation do not allow the use of athletes under the age of 16 in professional competitions. Eduardo Vinicius Rodrigues dos Santos, who was born on April 2, 2005, was listed by Palmeira in three games – against Assu, Globo FC and ABC. He stayed on the reserve bench at the three opportunities.
Palmeira had added three points in these three matches – they won against Assu and lost against Globo and ABC. In total, the Verdão do Agreste had four points in the state, and will now appear with a negative balance of five.

The accusation against Palmeira came from Potiguar de Mossoró, which filed an Infringement Report with the TJD. The case is identical to what occurred with Potiguar himself in 2019, when he related the 15-year-old midfielder Sávio. On that occasion, Potiguar was tried in Article 214 of the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice (CBJD), which tries to “include in the team, or make a record in the summary or equivalent document, an athlete in an irregular situation”. As a penalty, the club had the loss of three points won in the match, in addition to the punishment with the “loss of the maximum number of points attributed to a victory in the competition rules, regardless of the result” – Team Macho lost six points, and still he was fined R $ 300.
