The Novi Sad Court, in northern Serbia, sentenced Srdjan Obradovic to 15 months in prison after considering it proved that he abused his position as a referee to mark a non-existent penalty in a game between Spartak Subotica and Radnicki Nis, played in 2018 .
The Novi Sad Corruption Prevention Department has also decided to ban Obradovic from arbitration for a period of ten years, while also being prevented from playing any role in the Serbian Football Federation, Tanjug news agency confirmed.
In the game in question, Spartak won 2-0, both goals scored from penalty, one of which was classified as “scandalous” by the sports press.
