The subpoena was addressed to companies that have a commercial agreement with the club, in addition to Rede Globo and the Brazilian Football Confederation, responsible for TV quotas. One of them, Joli, has already informed the judge that they no longer have a relationship with the club.
The blocking request was made by an unfulfilled court agreement between Corinthians and B2F Marketing Esportivo LTDA, responsible for the career of Matheus Pereira, a midfielder known to the crowd as Pirulão, who was sold to Empoli, from Italy, in 2016.
Under the agreement with the company, Corinthians should pay R $ 1,160,000.00 (in ten installments) and also pass on another part of the total amount of the transfer.
Corinthians paid nine installments, but the last one was only partially paid (R $ 66 thousand was missing). The club has not yet paid the second part of the agreement, which corresponded to R $ 266.3 thousand. With interest and corrections, the sum of these two amounts reached R $ 490,820.97. This is the number that the judge ordered to be blocked.
Remember the sale of Matheus Pereira to Empoli-ITA, in 2016
At the time of Empoli’s offer of € 2.4 million (R $ 8 million at the time), 100% of Matheus Pereira’s economic rights were divided as follows:
- Luis Fernando Assessoria Esportiva Ltda: 26%;
- GT Sports: 19%
- B2F Marketing Esportivo LTDA: 15%;
- Sociedade Esportiva Vitória (SEV-Hortolândia): 35%
- Corinthians: 5%
This paltry percentage of Corinthians is related to the assignment of fractions of economic rights to the companies mentioned above (through undisclosed amounts) – club, at the beginning of the athlete’s trajectory at the base, had 70% of the rights. Fernando Garcia, a former board member, owns the first company, for example.
The acquisition of Matheus Pereira was made by Empoli-ITA in three installments, the first in cash (€ 1 million) and two other equal installments of € 700 thousand in the following year (April and December 2017).
Corinthians, as is mandatory in the FIFA transfer regulations, was the one who received the full amount – the entity does not accept transfers between clubs and companies, only between associations.
The club subsequently did not correctly transfer the amount that corresponds to the 15% of B2F Marketing Esportivo LTDA that. then, he went to court. This is the same company that also called Corinthians after the transfer of Maycon to Ukraine’s Shakhtar Donetsk. Remember here.
Matheus Pereira did not work at Empoli and, months later, was passed on to Juventus, also from Italy. Then the young man was loaned to Bordeaux-FRA and Paraná Clube, until he returned to team B of the Italian team. Currently, he defends the colors of Barcelona B, from Spain.
At Corinthians, Pirulão played only three games for the main team – all in 2015. However, he was promoted in fact by Tite only in the beginning of 2016, after the vice of Copinha. The player, incidentally, was appointed as the villain in the final for missing a small hole in the penalty shootout against Flamengo, in the middle of Pacaembu.
Matheus Pereira, who is 23, played 16 games for Barcelona’s B team in the 2020/21 season.
