Guro Reiten played the last half hour when Chelsea also won the “away match”, now 3-0. Due to entry rules, both matches were played in Budapest.

Barcelona further

Caroline Graham Hansen and Barcelona also moved on despite a 1-2 loss to Manchester City. The Spanish great team could celebrate for a place in the semifinals after a 4-2 victory overall. Graham Hansen scored for the scorer when Asisat Oshoala equalized to 1-1 after the hour.

– I am very happy and proud of our team, which manages to get us through such a tough challenge. Especially when we get that goal against, says Graham Hansen to TV 2.

Barcelona meet the winner of PSG and Lyon, who had yesterday’s match canceled due to corona outbreaks in Lyon.

– It will be very tough with the semi, but of course very fun. We look forward to continuing the journey, says Graham Hansen.

The meadow started

Ingrid Syrstad Engen played 84 minutes for Wolfsburg, while Karina Sævik was unused reserve.

Wolfsburg dominated the first match, but squandered the chances so that Chelsea limped ashore 2-1 victory. With two “away goals” before the break on Wednesday, Chelsea ensured that Wolfsburg needed four goals to move on, and the green jerseys were never close to making it.

Chelsea’s attacking trio Pernille Harder, Sam Kerr and Fran Kirby each scored their own goal. Harder scored in both matches against his former teammates.

Star tips decided

Harder and Kerr played the main roles when the match was punctured with two goals just before and after half an hour in the first half. First, the Australian was played by the Dane and fielded by Sara Doorsoun on his way into the penalty area. Harder rolled the penalty kick in at the post after the goalkeeper threw himself the opposite way.

Five minutes later Sophie Ingle played on Kerr, who with Doorsoun in the back took down the ball, turned and shot in goal.

Between the two goals Ewa Pajor missed a great chance for Wolfsburg. Engen played forward Fridolina Rolfö, who served Pajor open goal at the longest post. The finish went wide, and the Polish striker hit the post in frustration.

Kirby scored in the 81st minute after a wall play with substitute Ji So-yun.

One more chance

For Ingrid Syrstad Engen, Karina Sævik and her teammates in Wolfsburg, the German Cup is now the only realistic title chance this season. The great league leader Bayern Munich awaits in the semifinals on Sunday.

Bayern Munich will probably also be the semi-final opponent for Chelsea in the Champions League. The club has a 3-0 lead for Thursday’s return match against Swedish Rosengård.

Chelsea have already won the league cup, but then lost Maren Mjelde for the rest of the season. Without the Norwegian defense giant, the team is also chasing victory in the series, FA Cup and Champions League.
