ex-player will be removed from the Band due to spine surgery

Presenter of the program “Os Donos da Bola” and commentator of games on the Band, the former player Neto will leave indefinitely from his work at the station. The Corinthians idol will have surgery this Tuesday (6th) in São Paulo on his spine to solve a chronic problem.

The information was confirmed by the presenter in contact with the column. “I’m going to operate tomorrow at 7 am,” said Neto. The former player still does not know how long he will be recovering at home. Everything will depend on how successful the surgery will be.

The surgery will happen because Neto had been complaining of back pain for some time. When taking exams and feeling more pain, the ex-player and his team noticed that they needed to do some intervention to solve everything.

While he is away from his daily job, Neto will be replaced in “Os Donos da Bola” by journalist Fernando Fernandes, who already participates in the program’s bench frequently. Velloso and Souza, former fixed players of the attraction, follow normally.

Neto is also not going to comment on football matches on the weekends. The last broadcast was held last Saturday (3) between Bayern and RB Leipzig, for the German Championship, along with José Luiz Datena and Rafael Oliveira.
