Athletico Paranaense has a free path to close the hiring of Matheus Babi after the withdrawal of Fluminense. After the approval of the player himself and Serra Macaense, owner of the athlete’s federative rights, the Hurricane has yet to reach a consensus with Botafogo, the club from which the attacker is on loan until December. O LANCE! Explain.
The team from Paraná offered 1.2 million euros (R $ 8 million, at the current price) for 60% of the economic rights of the player. This money will be entirely for Serra Macaense. There will be another negotiation for Athletico to reach an agreement with Botafogo, which currently has a 40% showcase fee for shirt 11.
This, in fact, was one of the reasons why the negotiations with Fluminense did not go ahead. Serra Macaense and the player liked Tricolor’s proposal, but the Laranjeiras club offered Botafogo a list of players trying to reduce the demand for this showcase fee. Despite having nodded positively at the beginning, Alvinegro retreated due to the negative repercussions.
Now, Athletico needs to reach an agreement with Botafogo. Negotiation between the two clubs revolves around R $ 2 to R $ 3 million and Hurricane may also cede 10% of the economic rights to Alvinegro, who would have this right in a future sale.
That is, Athletico would spend, in total, just over R $ 10 million to hire Matheus Babi, counting the part of Serra Macaense and the negotiation for the showcase fee with Botafogo. There is a mutual interest for the negotiation to be resolved as soon as possible.
Matheus Babi’s departure, therefore, is totally dependent on the agreement with Botafogo, since Serra Macaense has already given the “ok” and the player also liked the conditions of the Hurricane.
