On Monday afternoon, Corinthians entered the court for their penultimate game of the regular season of the NBB. After defeats to Flamengo and São Paulo, the alvinegro team had a good performance and won by 93 to 79 the Unifacisa.

With the result, Timão reached 16 wins and 13 losses in the competition. Already qualified for the playoffs, the team occupies the sixth place and, so far, faces Pato in the next phase – however, there are a few games left to define the playoff knockout.

Agenda: Corinthians closes its participation in the regular season of NBB this Thursday, at 19h, against VipTech CMB.

Based on the good start against São Paulo, Demétrius Ferracciú did not change the team, starting with Fischer, Fuller, Miller, Arthur and Renato. The highlights were:

The game

First period

The game started out wide open, with both teams reaching for the basket. Not playing against São Paulo, Fuller showed his importance and took responsibility for most of the plays. After the tie persisted until 7 to 7, Timão finally took the lead after four minutes.

Intense in marking, Corinthians forced errors from Unifacisa and gradually began to drop off the scoreboard, reaching a five-point advantage after seven minutes. And that difference remained until the end of the quarter, with 24 to 19 on the scoreboard.

Second period

The return of Timão had Fuller again overwhelming, scoring another beautiful basket and expanding the advantage alvinegra. As the minutes passed, however, the team lost advantage and Unifacisa took advantage, closing the first three minutes ago only by three points.

In a little better, Corinthians came to resume the pace and open seven points, but again missed many attack moves and suffered the turn: 33 to 32 for Unifacisa with four minutes to the break.

The pace of the match remained high, with points exchanged on both sides. Led by Fuller, Timão managed to retake the end of the scoreboard, going to the locker room with partial victory by 44 to 43 – 20 points were from Gringo da Fiel.

Third period

The break from the break was good and the duel remained intense. With a warm hand, Corinthians fitted a beautiful series of baskets and opened the advantage on the scoreboard. Unifacisa threatened a reaction, but Timão went up and put a five point difference on the scoreboard.

The owner of the game remained Zoom Fuller. Inspired, he reached 24 points and breathed to Corinthians at the moment when Felipe Vezaro, a former black-and-white player, grew up and amended two baskets.

In the final part of the fourth, Malcom Miller joined Gringo da Fiel, amended a series of points and put Corinthians in a wide advantage in the match, reaching the edge of ten points. The fourth, however, ended in 68 to 62 for Timão.

Fourth period

The film was repeated again. On his return to the last quarter, Zoom Fuller put on a show, fit a series of beautiful points and gave Corinthians peace of mind on the scoreboard, opening a double-digit advantage for the first time in the match.

With the good moment of Corinthians, Unifacisa started to miss many attacks and give spaces for the alvinegro team to kill the game. The advantage quickly went up a lot and reached 14 points.
