Fluminense gives up Matheus Babi; Athletico will be the target of striker
Fluminense withdrew from hiring Matheus Babi in the ball market. After settling the wage bases and receiving the player’s ok at the weekend, Tricolor faced a change of mind about Botafogo and the athlete’s staff. The striker will go to Athletico.

Last week, Babi and Serra Macaense, holder of their economic rights, closed the terms with Flu and informed the club that only the settlement with Glorioso remained. A list of players was passed on to Alvinegro, who became interested in some names, but gave up on this business model after the negative repercussions of possible hiring on social networks.

Fluminense scheduled for this Monday (5) a meeting with the athlete, his staff and Botafogo to close the operation. At the last minute, the businessmen and Alvinegro warned that they would not appear because Babi had changed his mind and decided to play for Athletico. Tricolor, then, announced its exit from the business.

Athletico waved 1.2 million euros for 60%, which will be paid in cash. This proposal, in the end, was the favorite of Serra Macaense and Botafogo, which is entitled to a part as a showcase fee for the loan. Proportionally, the tricolor proposal was bigger: 1 million euros for 25% of economic rights. The Laranjeiras club, however, would pay in installments, which was also important in the business.
