After three rounds, the cruise is back to the G4’s Championship Miner. Four games from the end of the qualifying phase of the State, the celestial team occupies the fourth position, with 11 points. Now, he seeks the balance to start the season and, who knows, reach the semifinals at a more advanced stage of evolution identified by coach Felipe Conceição.
The positive point is the defensive system. Cruzeiro only conceded three goals in the first seven games of the State – average of 0.42, best mark among the 12 participating clubs. The celestial goal was not leaked in the games against URT, Athletic, Tombense and Boa Esporte.
On the other hand, offensive performance is worrying. The celestial team scored just five goals in the State and has the third worst attack by Mineiro alongside Patrocinense and URT. Only Coimbra (two) and Boa Esporte (three) – who are in the relegation zone – scored less times.
“I had already said that we would have a base of escalation, because it is time to grow as a team, for them (players) to know where each one is in their position, to allow this dispute (for position) to continue, but with greater consolidation of the base team so that it has a sequence and there is even greater growth of the team ”, he evaluated
Against Boa, Felipe Conceição made only two changes in relation to the previous game, the goalless draw against Tombense. On the left side, Matheus Pereira took the place of Alan Ruschel, who served suspension. In the attack, Airton replaced Felipe Augusto.
The team, then, was formed by Fábio; Cáceres, Manoel, Ramon and Matheus Pereira; Adriano, Matheus Barbosa and Marcinho; Bruno José, Airton and Rafael Sobis.
Cruzeiro faces Coimbra this Wednesday, starting at 5:30 pm, at Independência, for the eighth round of the State Championship. Then, they will face the classic against Atlético, on Sunday, at 16h, in the Mineirão.
