Vasco da Gama continues to reinforce its squad for 2021. Gigante da Colina agreed this Sunday (04/03) the signing of goalkeeper Vanderlei, his sixth reinforcement for the season. The 37-year-old defended Grêmio in the last edition of the Brazilian Championship and signed with Cruzmaltino until the end of the season.

Born in Porecatu, Paraná, Vanderlei started his career professionally at Paranavaí, but conquered the national projection defending Coritiba. He was hired by Santos in 2015 and became a highlight of his position in Brazil. In 2017, he was elected the best goalkeeper in the Brazilian Championship in the CBF and Bola de Prata awards. He left Peixe in 2019 to play at Grêmio, where he stayed until last week.

The qualified archer arrives at Gigante da Colina to be an important part of the reconstruction process and also contribute with his vast experience to the evolution process of the young Vasco goalkeepers, especially Lucão, starting this season and also in the next match, in front of the Tombense (MG), for the Brazil Cup.
