Last Sunday, striker Rodrigo Varanda appeared in a photo on a futsal court in the Favela do Pau Queimado, in Tatuapé. On the record, the Corinthians striker was without a mask and next to his agent.

The image did not take long to resonate on social networks and, shortly after, the player explained himself in his profile.

“I’m getting a lot of messages, saying that I was breaking Covid’s procedure, I just took off my mask to post the photo. And on the court, it is in my community, where my daughter lives, there is no way for me not to go to the environment“wrote the player – see below.

In a note, the adviser of the player said and reiterated that Varanda went to visit his daughter in the neighborhood where she lives. After that, he took the picture with a friend and soon left. Still according to the press office, both were wearing masks and only took them out for registration.

Even with these hygiene measures, the athlete understands that it was a mistake to have passed the place and reinforced that everyone should follow the health protocols, the use of masks, social distance and the use of alcohol gel.

Initially, the Corinthians squad would train on Sunday, but the club changed the schedule and the players received a break on Easter Sunday. Although the athletes are instructed to avoid crowding, Corinthians does not interfere in their players’ slack. The club did not comment on the case.

A few weeks ago, striker Jô and midfielder Otero shared photos at a resort, without a mask, while the club was experiencing an outbreak in Covid-19. The matter was dealt with internally.
