Rapper Is in ‘Vegetative State’, Says Website

The rapper and actor DMX, known for the hit “Party Up (Up in Here)”, overdosed last night and is in hospital in serious condition, according to TMZ sources.

The 50-year-old artist had a heart attack triggered by the overdose, and was quickly taken to a hospital in White Plains (USA). A source on the website said that DMX is “in a vegetative state” and that doctors do not have much hope for his recovery.

The New York-born rapper has been battling addiction for years. In 2019, he spent time in a rehab clinic, after serving just under a year in jail for fraud.

DMX seemed to be doing well when he returned to the stage in December of the same year. As early as 2020, he participated in a virtual rhyme battle against Snoop Dogg.

His most recent studio album is “Redemption of the Beast”, released in 2015. Other career hits include “Get at Me Dog”, “Stop Being Greedy” and “We Right Here”.

As an actor, DMX appeared in films such as “Romeu Must Die” (2000), “Corruption Network” (2001) and “Against Time” (2003).
