Bonner confirms tax assessment, but says he “will take action”

William Bonner confirmed that he was fined by the IRS for alleged irregularities in professional contracts. Without mentioning dates or values, the anchor of Jornal Nacional issued a note, claiming to have paid the fine, despite disagreeing with the assessment.

“I clarify that I owe nothing to the IRS. Upon being assessed, although I disagreed with the assessment, I paid the amount unduly charged, reserving the right to ask for the refund of what belongs to me by right ”, began the journalist.

Bonner also stated that he will take “other measures” on the matter with the IRS, and that his professional relationship with Globo “does not occur through Legal Entities (PJ)”

William Bonner is part of a group of more than 60 employees and former Rede Globo employees who, since last year, have been fined by the Federal Revenue Service, which accuses the company and employees of collusion to reduce the payment of taxes and to evade the Treasury through the called “pejotização”.
