The New Gods saga, also known as “The Fourth World”, was created by Jack Kirby in 1971 and debuted in a trilogy of related comics that marked the debut of DC’s characters Darkseid and Heavenly Father.
The New Gods told the story of a war between planets that exist outside the DC multiverse – New Genesis and Apokolips – and featured Darkseid discovering that humanity held the key to the Anti-Life Equation.
