In a recent interview with Collider, the director of Godzilla vs KongAdam Wingard explained the absence of a post-credit scene in the film.

According to what the filmmaker said, there was no such scene at the end of the film given the uncertain future of MonterVerse.

“If we are going to do a sequel, we will find out what is based on what people like and dislike”, Wingard said after admitting that the franchise is at a kind of crossroads.

Warner and Legendary have not said a word about whether the franchise will continue. Beginning in 2014 with Godzilla, MonsterVerse has been met with great acclaim since its debut, but it hasn’t been a smashing success yet.

Godzilla vs Kong it must be the film that will define the future of this franchise, with its financial success intrinsically linked to the continuation or not of the project.

The cast features Alexander Skarsgard (The Legend of Tarzan), Rebecca Hall (Dangerous Attraction), Eiza Gonzalez (On the Run), Jessica Henwick (Iron Fist), Millie Bobby Brown (Godzilla II), Kyle Chandler (Godzilla II ), and Demián Bichir (The Nun).

Godzilla vs Kong is showing in theaters and on the HBO Max streaming platform.
