São Paulo – With 1,987 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, Brazil reached this Saturday (3) the mark of 330,193 confirmed deaths as a result of the covid-19. There are almost 13 million cases (12,953,597), with 43,515 in the last period. The data were released in the late afternoon by the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass).
With this result, there are 19,463 deaths registered in one week, above the previous one and the most lethal so far. The number of cases totals 463,235, down from the previous three weeks.
Of the approximately 13 million cases, just over 2.5 million were recorded in São Paulo, a state where 76,750 people have already died. Rio de Janeiro has 657,139 cases and 37,629 deaths. The third in number of occurrences is Minas Gerais (1,153,526), with 25,534 deaths.
The singer Agnaldo Timóteo died at 10:45 am today, at the age of 84. He had been hospitalized for 18 days. Mineiro de Caratinga, Agnaldo was celebrated for his romantic repertoire. The artist started singing in a freshman program, while maintaining his work as a lathe operator. In the 1960s, he moved to Rio de Janeiro, where he became a driver for Ângela Maria, and gradually he stood out. In the 1980s, he started a political career. He was a federal deputy and councilor.
