In just three months, Mato Grosso do Sul has already registered three deaths caused by dengue. In the last week, two more deaths due to the disease were confirmed. Until this Wednesday (31), there are 1,982 confirmed cases in the State.

Thus, 369 were registered only in the last week. The data were released in an epidemiological bulletin from SES (State Health Secretariat). So, the State has an average incidence of dengue and there are 219 probable cases for every 100 thousand inhabitants.

As a result, 17 municipalities in MS have already reached a high incidence of the disease. There are 2.69 thousand cases of dengue for every 100 thousand inhabitants of Antônio João. The municipality has the highest rate in the state. Thus, Camapuã is second with 1,900 cases for the same number of inhabitants. Finally, the third with the highest rate is Bataguassu. In the city, there are 1,500 cases for every 100,000 people.

The last deaths were confirmed in March this year. One of them is a woman, resident in Três Lagoas, 44 years old. She was reported with the symptoms on March 5 and on the 12th of the same month, she died of dengue.

The other, on the other hand, is a 19-year-old girl with no comorbidities, living in Caarapó, who died on March 15. In it, the symptoms began to appear on March 9. Thus, in 2021 more deaths from dengue were recorded than in 2018, 2017 or 2014.
